The Short Version
- In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Takes effect immediately.
- No longer have the app? Email [email protected] from the address on your account.
- Your club’s shared records stay, attributed to an anonymous “Deleted User” — your personal information does not.
This page explains how to delete your account for The Hunt Club App (HuntClub), published by AJC Apps, LLC, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open HuntClub and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We respond within 30 days.
Send the request from your account’s own email address where possible — it is how we confirm the request is really yours. If you cannot, tell us the address you signed up with and we will verify another way before deleting anything.
What is permanently deleted
- Your password, and your email address (replaced with a random value — see below)
- Your avatar, display name, and phone number
- Your preferences and notification settings
- Your device push-notification tokens
- Your location pings
- Your poll votes, event RSVPs, and reservations
- Your subscription record
- Your club memberships — you are removed from every club
What is retained under “Deleted User”
Hunt clubs are shared records. Removing one member’s contributions would tear holes in the club’s history for everyone else, so the following remain in your clubs’ records, attributed to an anonymous “Deleted User” profile that is no longer linked to you:
- Your chat messages
- Your harvest logs and check-in history
- Your notes, photos, and uploaded files
- The events, polls, stands, map markers, and trails you created
Where we had copied your display name into photo tags, that copy is replaced with “Deleted User”. Free text is not rewritten: your own messages, and other members’ messages that mention you by name, are left as written.
The account record itself
The underlying account record is retained in anonymised form rather than removed outright. Its email address is erased and replaced with an opaque value, its password is cleared, and its sessions are destroyed — what remains identifies nobody and cannot be signed into or restored. It is kept so that the club content described above keeps a valid, non-identifying reference; deleting it outright would break the records your club relies on.
If you own a club
Ownership transfers automatically to the club’s longest-standing admin, or failing that its longest-standing member, or failing that its longest-standing guest. If you are the club’s only member, the club is deleted along with your account. You are never blocked from deleting your account.
Retention period
Deletion is immediate, not scheduled — there is no waiting period and no grace period during which the account could be restored. The items listed under “permanently deleted” above are removed at the time of the request. The anonymized club records described above are retained indefinitely, because they belong to the club rather than to an individual member and no longer identify you.
Residual copies may persist in routine backups until those backups age out. Beyond that, we keep only what the law requires us to keep.
Two things to know before you delete
Your email address is released
You can sign up again later with the same address. That creates a completely new account; it does not restore or re-link anything from the deleted one.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription
If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, only the store can cancel that subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings or your Google Play subscription settings before deleting your account, or you will keep being billed.
